Wholesale Tins
Promocan supplies open-top tin cans and end components in pallet quantities to customers requiring access to formats and volumes that are not typically available through standard trade supply routes.
This service exists primarily to support small manufacturers, start-ups and specialist users who require direct-from-maker can supply but whose order volumes fall below the minimums normally serviced by large multinational can manufacturers.
HOW WE SUPPLY WHOLESALE TINS
For our own production, Promocan purchases open-top cans and end components directly from UK and European can makers operating high-volume, continuous manufacturing lines. These manufacturers are structured to supply full truckloads of pallets on a contractual basis.
Through long-standing relationships, we are able to source single or small multiple pallet quantities, and we are often referred enquiries by can makers where the requested volumes fall outside their standard operating model.
This arrangement allows specialist users to access professional can formats while enabling manufacturers to avoid the administrative and logistical complexity of servicing low-volume orders.
NON-FOOD GRADE & FOOD GRADE SUPPLY
Non-food grade tins offer the greatest flexibility. In addition to standard production sizes, certain manufacturers will produce bespoke diameters and heights for larger orders, typically from around six pallets upwards.
These tins are frequently sourced for alternative uses outside conventional food filling and seaming applications, including conversion into candles, use as industrial mixing pots, packaging of non-food products such as seeds or textiles, and incorporation as architectural or decorative features within commercial building projects.
Food-grade tins are supplied only in established production formats. These are limited to the sizes currently in regular manufacture, typically ranging from approximately 52mm to 153mm in diameter, with heights determined by standard tooling.
Food-grade can manufacturers place a high level of importance on how and where their cans are used. As a result, new food-grade customers are required to provide information relating to:
- The product being filled
- The can seamer being used
- Tooling compatibility
- Double seam quality control practices
This qualification process is an essential part of maintaining supply integrity and manufacturer relationships.
ORDER SIZES & COMMERCIAL CONTEXT
Wholesale tin supply is pallet-based and supports requirements ranging from single pallet quantities through to full truck loads of pallets. Pricing is provided on a quotation basis only and reflects the costs and logistics of sourcing, handling and supplying palletised can stock.
While wholesale tins do not form part of Promocan’s finished product range, this service remains strategically important and is managed carefully to ensure reliability for both customers and manufacturing partners.
